One way to keep up with the latest news on disability-related legislation in Missouri is to subscribe to the Missouri Disability Legislative Listserve. Persons who have internet access can subscribe free of charge. They will receive news through e-mails during the Missouri legislative session that provide brief overviews of legislation, implications for persons with disabilities and up-to-date information on where bills are in the legislative process. Updates will also be provided on new laws as they go into effect. The listserve is administered by Missouri Assistive Technology. The e-mail postings are not limited to assistive technology issues, but also cover a range of other disability issues. The listserve tries not to duplicate information on issues already provided by other listserves or other organizations. It has become a valuable resource for disability organizations and individuals who want to follow legislative activity in Missouri's General Assembly.
It is easy to subscribe. Simply send an e-mail message to: majordomo@mail.state.mo.us

Not Dead Yet www.notdeadyet.org
Not Dead Yet (NDY) is a group of disability rights advocates who oppose any public policy that singles out individuals for legalized killing (euthanasia) based on their health status. This violates the Americans with Disabilities Act, denies people with disabilities the equal protection of the law, and health professionals decide who is "eligible." In these days of cost cutting and managed care, NDY doesn't trust the health care system and feels no one should.
